Biocollege is such a transitional time. they say that you will learn everything you need to prepare you for the real world. they don't say that what you are living in right now is some fucked up version of test after test to make sure that you will survive in the real world. they don't tell you that nothing really matters, that you spend all this time figuring out who you are and aren't, what you will or won't do, and that when you graduate everything is going to change again and none of this will matter. why do we go through all of this at all? how many people actually get a job in their field of study? i'm learning slowly that denying who you are and what you want (or don't want) because you think it's what everyone else wants of you is not good. it doesn't make you happy, and it doesn't make anyone else happy either. so you just have to sit back, and accept things the way they are, or change them so they work for you. you can't have everything your way (no matter how much i pretend that i can) and you have to understand that everyone is crazy. everyone will have their own way of looking at things and dealing with life's little issues and you had better learn to see that and see beyond yourself. there is a bigger world out there and sometimes its important to remember that. sometimes, too, its important to spend some time alone and reflect on your own corner of the world... and since it's college, sometimes it's important to get really fucked up and forget the world was ever there at all...
